Silent Monkey Productions - Advance - User Guide

Advance - User Guide:

HOW TO PLAY
The object of the game is to line up tiles in rows/columns of 3 or more identical tiles. This will cause them to disappear. You will be awarded points. The more tiles are removed the more points you get.

When the mouse is over a tile a Kanji is displayed and study information about this kanji is displayed at the bottom of the screen. When a Removal is made, study information is displayed briefly on the Play Area.

Hint – make removals from the bottom of the screen first. Try to make the tiles above fall into alignments of 4 or more tiles.

Pay attention to the displayed information! After 5 removals (the default setting), the level is complete and the quiz screen is displayed. From here you must pass a test in order to proceed to the next level.

From the start of the game, there are 6 levels. Each level exposes you to 8 kanji. After you have finished 6 levels (if you can get the Removals and if you pass each quiz) you can load another word list and continue.

HOW TO LINE UP THE TILES
Click on 2 adjacent tiles and they will switch locations. If either of these tiles is in a pattern of 3 or more adjacent identical tiles, the identical tiles will disappear. Tiles above will move down and fill the empty space. Each set of tiles that is removed this way is called a ‘Removal’. Removals of 4 or more tiles get increasingly larger bonuses.

Possible combinations:

Vertical

Horizontal

Big Bonus!

Click on any 2 adjacent tiles within this set to get large removal.

Here is a simulated animation: Clicking two adjacent tiles causes them to switch locations. If the move is legal and a set of three or more of the same tile is made, the set will disappear and the tiles above will slide down to fill the empty space.
